Things I Love Thursday #5

I love breakfasts like today - quiet apartment, cat sleeping in her basket on a window sill, nothing to do/nowhere to go outside my flat so I don't have to hurry, strawberry jam, sprouts on my sandwich, flavoured black tea, morning e-mails check.

The only things that's missing is the presence of my husband, but then it wouldn't be so quiet and peaceful, we would talk and joke and laugh, and probably put some movie on to watch during breakfast, and we would have eggs or pancakes.

Such lonely quiet breakfasts are necessary from time to time, I think. *^v^*

Winter came back yesterday with some snow in the morning, but then the temperature was above zero and everything melted. But today it's been snowing heavily again and it's very cold, so I think it'll stay white outside for a while.

And tomorrow - expect the worst... the attack of the Skirt Making Monster!!!.... \*^o^*/

Things I love Thursday #4

"When in doubt, overdress." Vivienne Westwood

First of all, I'd like to say that I'm very sorry if anyone felt offended by my post about the grey jackets people. I really didn't mean any harm!

If you like greys and dark blues that's absolutely FINE!

I was talking about people miserable in such clothing, people who would like to wear cheerful colours, but they can't.

Sometimes I feel like hiding myself and then I wear my black training trousers or a pair of jeans and black/blue blouse. I have nothing against grey, and in fact I decided to tame this colour for me (well, I had to admit that grey IS a colour after all!... *^v^*). I'm sewing a grey woollen dress and I hope to show it to you on Friday (together with a fabulous tights I bought yesterday and a wonderful thrifted blouse I found on Tuesday! ^^

Do you ever buy in second hand shops? Aand if so, how often? What do you buy - clothes? Shoes? Fabrics? Accessories?

I LOVE second-hand shops! I believe 75% of my wardrobe is second-hand, 15% are clothes made by myself (usually from the thrifted fabrics ^^), 10% is new: my underwear, tights/stockings & socks, winter coats. In Poland there are usually no second-hand shops with other things that I mentioned above. There are carboot sales organised every now and then where you can buy anything second-hand, but in the shops open on regular bases you can buy only clothes/shoes/fabrics/some accessories (bags, belts, scarves, ect). I have some favourite places I visit regularly and never leave empty handed! ^^

To end up my post, don't forget that this Sunday is the International Pajama Day

I've planned to wash my and Robert's pajamas on Friday so they are fresh and ready, go shopping on Saturday for some special Pajama Day treats (box of ice-cream is a must when you are wearing your pajama... ^^), prepare two pairs of hand knitted socks in case our feet gets cold, and generally relax on that day and spend some real quality time with my husband and our cat. I'm so looking forward to Sunday! *^v^*

Things I love Thursday #3

I love kimchi!
Kimchi is a Korean hot and spicy cabbage, and I can eat it as a snack with a glass of beer, or in some dishes (like here: kimchi soup).
In fact, I love anything that is hot and sour at the same time, so all the pickles are very welcome! ^^

And eating a bowl of a warm soup is just perfect for a day like this: covered with the tons of snow! *^v^*

It started to snow two night before and here is the view from my balcony on Wednesday morning (first photo) and this morning (second photo):

And it's still snowing...

But it didn't stop us from going to a Japanese bands concert last night! *^v^*

It seems that there will be one concert each month (we are in contact with the people who organise the events and they event offered us some free entrance tickets in exchange for the adverts of the concerts on our shop's site! ^^), and last night we saw: Hagakure (j-rock) and Anti Feminism (j-punk). Well, we almost missed the first band because we were late - the traffic was terrible thanks to the snow, but we liked it a lot from the few songs we heard, and the second band was very loud and messy, just what you would expect from the punk group! *^v^*

We weren't allowed to take photos (only press had this privilige...), so we took photos of ourselves!^^

I love my bellydance classes!
(Although I always feel lazy when I have to move my butt and go out to my classes... But I'm happy when I dance! ^^)

Things I Love Thursday #1

I've just found a Flickr group, where on Thursdays people send the photos of the things they love, and I thought that I should join because it's corresponding to the idea of The Year of Simple Things I joined lately, and it will help me concentrate on those simple things that bring me joy, warmth to my heart and smiles to my face. ^^

So, today is my first Thing I love:

I love pink and red together, especially when they are on me in the form of some clothing or accessories! *^v^*

(I bought this sweater in the children's section of Kapphal two years ago and the earmuffs were added to some magazine - they are heart-shaped! ^^)

And talking about Thursdays check this out: Inspire Me Thursday ! ^^
