Prosto z Pieca/From the Oven

Upiekła paluchy z makiem Kuchareczka, upiekła Dorotus, upiekła Komarka, to upiekłam i ja! *^v^*

Three of my Polish fellow bloggers baked those poppy seed rolls recently, so did I! *^v^*
Mine came out a bit too thick, but it was a debut, next time I can roll them thinner. They are delicious! Perfectly moist, a bit sweet from the honey, with a poppy seed accent. I'll be baking them again some day.
Today it's the third day after I made them so I can tell you how they behaved: on the second day the became a bit heavier but still very fresh, on the third day they started to go stale. But this is the product to be eaten straight from the oven, I'm sure of it! ^^ With some butter and strawberry jam, accompanied by a glass of milk, yummy! *^v^*
Here is the recipe:
- mix together 500 g of flour (I used bread wheat flour, type 720) and 2 Tsp of soft butter
- add 1 tsp of salt and 1,5 tsp of dry yeast
- in a separate container warm up (don't boil!) 150 ml of milk, 125 ml of water and 4 Tsp of honey
- pour the liquids to the flour and make a sift dough
- leave it for 1 hour to grow
- knead it a bit, then form thin rolls on a baking paper
- leave them to grow for about 15 minutes
- paste them with 1 egg+1 Tsp of milk mixture and sprinkle with poppy seeds
- put them in the oven for about 15 minutes, temperature 200 degrees Celsjus

Dziś dodatkowo upiekłam chleb "bez wyrabiania" z przepisu Ptasi (polskich czytelników odsyłam na jej blog po przepis), użyłam mąki chlebowej pszennej typ 720. Bigę wyrobiłam wczoraj o 16:00, i wyrastała do dzisiejszego poranka, kiedy to przebiłam ciasto około 10:00 i dałam mu jeszcze przez 2 godziny podrosnąć.

Additionally, today I baked a no-knead bread, I used the same bread wheat flour type 720.
I made a starter dough (biga) yesterday at 4 pm and let it grow till this morning, when I kneaded it a bit at 10:00, and left it for another 2 hours to grow again. Then I put in in the oven for 1 hour.

I know that you shouldn't eat hot bread, but... oh, Gods!... it's gorgeous! The crust is perfectly crusty, the inside is soft and it tastes like a real bread. ^^
Here is the recipe:
- in an oiled big bowl mix together: 450 g of flour, 1,5 tsp of salt, 1/4 tsp of dry yeast, 1,5 cups of water
- cover it and let it grow for no less than 12 hours and up to 20 hours
- after this time knead it well
- place it on a cloth covered with flour and let it grow for another 2 hours
- preheat the oven to 270 degrees Celsjus and put inside it the breadform to make it warm, too (it can a glass casserole dish with a cover or a tin form)
- when the form is hot, place the bread into it and cover it, leave it covered in the oven for 30 minutes
- then remove the cover and let it brown nicely for another 15-30 minutes (depends on the oven)

Smacznego! *^v^*

I have to tell you that last night I made another dish which got a lot of compliments form my husband, but I didn't think to take a photo of it before we started to eat it... So I promise to photograph it next time I'll prepare it (and it's good, so it'll be soon). *^v^*

I decided to show you today some of the yarns I bought recently, because it turned out that I don't have enough of the green Luna to finish the front lacy band on the Lords&Ladies, so I had to buy one more skein. And because I didn't want to pay 3 USD for the shipment of only one skein I bought some cotton for two Summer projects. And that's it as far as my yarn shopping goes for some time... (I promise! *^v^*). By the way i bought the colour I wanted to try for some time, but wasn't sure about it on me. If it turns out ugly on my complexion I can always knit something for my mom and give it to her for Christmas. ^^
So, for now I have the following yarns:

Elian Klasik for Kimono Styled Sweater, (most probably, I didn't swatch it yet but I think that's the yarn).

And Kashmir dedicated for the weaving project. It will go for part of the warp and weft, the rest of the warp will be made of the tangled wool I bought last year. I'll devote a separate post to weaving.

Aktualnie w robocie mam teraz:

So, right now in the craft basket I have:
- almost finished Lords&Ladies,
- a knitted surprise for Michelle, with whom we are having a craft swap. (Michelle is also making a surprise for me and I'm very excited because I have no idea what it's going to be and she creates beautiful decoupage objects, sews and creates jewellery! ^^)
- crocheted (me - with a crochet hook, go figure!...^^) stash buster, meaning I'm experimenting with using up the yarn into a big stole/shawl, which will most probably go onto the Christmas presents pile.

A teraz idę zjeść jeszcze jedną kromkę chleba! *^v^*
And now I'm going to eat one more slice of bread! *^v^*

  5. Prawda, że makowe paluchy są pyszne? :) Z dżemem truskawkowym, z masłem, z miodem... Ze wszystkim, nawet same :)
    Pozdrawiam serdecznie.
