FREE PATTERNS - Poncho



Needles: 10 mm, then 8 mm, 6 mm, 4 mm
Yarn: mohair, lace weight, gauge 5 sts = 1 inch/4 mm needles, about 100 g

With 10 mm needles cast on 86 sts holding two threads together.
Work in rib 2k x 2p for 30 rows.

Eyelets
R31: k1, [yo, k2tog] repeat
R32: p all

Switch to needles 8 mm.
R33: rib 2k x 2p

Switch to needles 6 mm.
R34: rib 2k x 2p

Switch to needles 4 mm.
R35: rib 2k x 2p

R36: BO all.

Pick up 20 sts along both shorter ends of the rectangular held side by side using 6 mm needles.
R1: k all
R2: [k1, kfb] repeat
R3: [k1, kfb] repeat
R4: BO all

Weave in the ribbon and enjoy! ^^

  2. Can you explain what 'kfb' means? I tried to find it on other websites but this abbrev. doesn't exist.

  3. Michelle, it means: "knit front and back", you first knit through the front loop and then without removing the stitch from the left needle you knit through the back loop - in this way you increase the number of stitches.
    I highly recommend this site: http://www.knittinghelp.com/knitting/abbreviations_explained/ , they have all the stitches well explained, I learnt from them! ^^
